Personalized support and guidance of the shipowner in the choice of vessel for future exploitation and operation in les “Iles sous le vent”.
Alwena performed technical evaluations for the purpose of TMV. Final decision was to buy the Norwegian (50m LOA) Cargo vessel With Nord in Trondheim mostly dedicated the fishing activities.
Management of different steps for conversion: Feasibility study and Basic Design with one dedicated design team from Croatia.
Main goals were to define the technical and economic impact of the conversion, the jumboisation (+15m) and the new Ro-Ro Ramp meanwhile tweaking the final needs from Shipowner.
In January, the renamed VAITERE 2 vessel arrived in lay-by berth in Le Havre – France.
Decision making and requirements specification are written with the Tahitian crew onboard.
After technical specifications were clarified and consider closed, several visit and discussions in European shipyards were done. Main purpose was to evaluate the capability of shipyard to meet real customer needs, technical capacity in a short time and price.
Arrival at the REMONTOWA yard in Gdansk, Poland, selected to carry out the work.
Main steps in purpose to support shipowner’s during conversion:
• Production monitoring and control, coordination management and permanent discussion and trading and communication with on the one hand the shipyard and on the other hand shipowners
• Order management, delivery and shipment Schedule and consumables items management.
• Supervision et coordination of crew member and externals subcontractors (repair yard foreman, Marine experts, Class Societies surveyors, etc.)
• Operationnal budget monitoring depending of the shipowner’s decisions
• Technical inspection and evaluation of compliancy with rules of construction
• Discussion and monitoring of the issuance of class and flag certificates before vessel departure.
Once the conversion was completed with all brands new equipment installed and class society inspections performed and validated, TMV with Alwena and shipyard performed the sea trials.
In the meantime, the new post-jumboisation performance and maneuverability of the VAITERE 2 were evaluated and verify it is consistent with engineering studies.
At the end of this step, VAITERE 2 received final certificates of class, and prepared for departure.

Once ready for departure VAITERE 2 left Gdansk to sail to her new adoption port in Papeete.
The transit is around 60 days, with onboard future Tahitian Crew from TMV supported with our ship manager partner in charge and responsible of the repatriation of the VAITERE 2.
